The second screening of the Rhythm Sections for Dance Film series lifts the dance film from its classical interpretation, leaving more room for different body representations, choreography of everyday movements and special combinations of body and space.
Often minimalist works require focused attention, contemplative attitude and openness from the viewer, in addition to which humor, absurd situations and the conscious use of “chance” also appear in films. In addition to Ábris Gryllus’ rarely seen POST_ video work, the program includes several award-winning works, such as Abe Abraham’s (USA) Salt Water film, which won the Best Experimental Film Award at the Sydney World Film Festival and the Harlem International Film Festival, and Jukka Rajala’s (FI) work entitled Parkinson, which was selected as the best film in the 60secondsdance competition. After the screening, a discussion will take place with the creators of POST_.
